上海美高双语学校为了鼓励学生积极阅读，培养良好的阅读习惯，新学期学校开展了一系列针对各个年级的阅读活动。每个月我们会给学生开书单建议学生阅读，针对不同年级的学生，阅读书目不同。考虑到学生学习现状，每月每个学生需至少阅读一本中文著作和一本英文著作，内容涉及文学、历史等方面。以下是2016年10月上海美高高双语学校学生阅读书单：

一年级 For Grade 1

一年级的小朋友阅读童话故事有助于培养孩子的创造性，天真和童趣。《彼得兔》和《安徒生童话》都是经典的童话书目，对刚学认字的小朋友来说，童话既充满了趣味，又可培养学生的阅读和语言能力。

It's helpful for children in G1 to read fairy tales to stimulate the imagination and creativity of children. Peter Rabbit and Andersen's Fairy Tales is a classic fairy tale. It is full of fun, and also can develop students' reading ability and language.

一个将民间传说、道德说教和幽默诙谐语用他自己非凡的想像力结合起来的丹麦作家，他创作的童话故事不仅对儿童，对成年人同样具有重要意义。

A Danish writer who combines folklore, morality, and humor into his own remarkable imagination. His fairy tales are not only for children, they are also meaningful for adults.

四、五年级 For Grade 4、5

这两部作品都是关于勇敢的冒险的故事，四五年级的小朋友已经预备一定的语言能力，且正是性格培养的关键时期，这两部小说有助于培养小朋友的勇敢无畏、坚韧不拔的冒险精神和顽强意志，这种意志，无论对任何一个民族和家的孩子来说，都是不可缺失的，尤其是处在多变的世界，什么事情都有可能发生，即使是“假设”的灾难和艰险，也随时都有可能显灵。重要的是，当意外的事情来临了，应该学会接受和面对，该像鲁滨逊一样，用一颗积极乐观的心，去看待世界，去对世界和明天抱有美丽的渴望、期待与信念。

These two books are both brave adventure stories. Children in G4&5 will have already developed some basic language skills and will have begun growing into their personalities. These two novels help instill kids with a sense of adventure and tenacity. It is important that when unexpected things take place, we should have the courage and confidence to tackle them as Robinson does so, with a positive and optimistic heart.主

要讲述了主人公鲁滨逊因出海遭遇灾难，先被海盗攻击，再到种植园，最后漂流到无人小岛，并坚持在岛上生活，最后回到原来所生活的社会的故事。从这部小说的表面上看，讲述的是一个奇迹般的历险故事，但是，故事背后却隐含着人类共同面临的问题，也隐藏着人们所普遍渴望和梦想的东西，如向往的自由、孤筏重洋、英雄梦想、敢于行动、自立于世、勇于担当等等。

Robinson Crusoe tells the adventure of a man lost at sea. The story shows our common aspirations and dreams, such as the yearning for freedom, world exploration, heroism, courage, and independence.

丹尼尔·笛福-By Daniel Defoe

This is a story of a girl named Minli, who lives in a tiny hut with her parents in the shadow of Fruitless Mountain, so-called because nothing grows on it. The villagers who live by it the mountain all live in poverty, includeing Minli and her family.

这是一个叫敏莉的女孩的故事，村里的人民都过着烦劳辛苦的生活。她想为家里带来好运，为了这个目标，她展开了一段精彩而又冒险的旅程。最终得到了真正的智慧，并且让家里和村庄变得富足。

六、七、八年级 For Grade 6、7、8

这两本书的主题可以说是风格迥异，一种是极具浪漫主义色彩的童话，一种是反应中国社会现实的写照，初中是学生思维能力形成的关键时期，因此一方面让他们接触美好浪漫的童话，另一方面，要逐渐使他们认识到现实与童话的差距。

The two themes of this book are very different; one is a romantic fairy tale, and the other is a reflection of Chinese social reality. These two books on the one hand expose them to romantic fairy tales while on the other hand makes them aware of how fictitious fairy tales are in their depictions of reality.

《骆驼祥子》是老舍的代表作之一，以现实主义的笔法与悲天悯人的情怀，塑造了祥子、虎妞等一批令人难忘的艺术形象，在中国现代文学史上拥有重要地位。虽然这只是一本小说，但是它折射出了人性的懦弱，毕竟能够一生都坚忍不拔的人是少数，但我们可以在追求的过程中慢慢改变。毕竟明天会怎样?我们都不得而知，但是我们可以把握今天。

The Rickshaw Boy is one of his masterpieces. With realistic brushwork expressing feelings of compassion, he created Xiangzi and a number of other memorable artistic images, which holds an important position in the history of modern Chinese literature. Although this is only a novel, it reflects humans' weakness; no one can know what will happen tomorrow but we can strive to make today better.

九、十年级 For Grade 9、10

九、十年级的孩子正是典型的青春期，对自己和未来充满了迷茫和困惑，这两本书有助于帮助学生正确的认识自己，正确处理青春期的种种困惑，同时也使他们认识到即使在最绝望的时候依然要勇敢的与命运抗争，更能引导他们珍惜现在所能享受到的一切。

Students this age are usually confused about their future. These books can help them recognize themselves and handle their problems correctly. It also teaches them to be brave and courageous in times of trouble and difficulty.

许三观卖血记是余华于1995年创作的一部长篇小说，小说讲述了许三观靠着卖血渡过了人生的一个个难关，战胜了命运强加给他的惊涛骇浪，而当他老了，知道自己的血再也没有人要时，精神却崩溃了。它以博大的温情描绘了磨难中的人生，以激烈的故事形式表达了人在面对厄运时求生的欲望。

This story is about a man called Sanguan Xu who survived most of his problems by selling his blood. As he ages, surviving becomes more difficult as the desire for his blood diminishes. The book describes the difficulties of life and shows people's tenacity when facing suffering.

十一、十二年级 For Grade 11、12

十一、十二年级的学生即将成年，不可避免的会面临价值观的选择，《珍珠》这本书对于学生形成正确的价值观，对美与丑、善与恶形成明确的标准有着重要意义。此外，对于即将离开校园的他们而言，未来是未知的，《活着》这本书能够帮助学生到活着本身很艰难，延续生命就得艰难的活着，正因为异常艰难，活着才具有深刻的含义。没有比活着更美好的事，也没有比活着更艰难的事。

Students in grade 11 and 12 are essentially already adults and will soon begin to face the difficulties that adults deal with. These two books are helpful for students to develop a healthy value system and good moral compass. Life is both the most beautiful and most troubling thing at the same time!

《活着》是作家余华的代表作之一，讲诉了在大时代背景下，随着内战、三反五反，大跃进，文化大革命等社会变革，徐福贵的人生和家庭不断经受着苦难，到了最后所有亲人都先后离他而去，仅剩下年老的他和一头老牛相依为命。《活着》展现了一个又一个人的死亡过程，掀起一波又一波无边无际的苦难波浪，表现了一种面对死亡过程的可能的态度。

The main character experienced quite a hard life. He lives with an old cow at the end. This book shows an attitude to death.
