2016年12月31日至2017年1月8日， ITF国际青少年(U18)网球巡回赛中，上海美高双语学校在读生李玄津与其搭档经过激烈角逐，最终拿下女子双打冠军。

Last year starting December 31st, 2016, all the way through to January 8th, 2017, one of Living Word Shanghai Bilingual School’s students, Li Xuanjin (Jin), was competing on the tennis court and after much toil went home with 1st prize in the women’s doubles bracket!

在以往的国际比赛中，李玄津同学也成绩斐然，曾在西班牙网球协会比赛中勇夺单打冠军，同时也在ATF(亚洲网球协会)级别A比赛中双打夺冠。小小年纪就享有网球国际排名，因此被师长和亲友称呼为“小李娜”。

Jin has had quite the illustrious career; having previously placed 1st in a Spanish tennis association’s singles tournament as well as 1st place in the ATF (Asian Tennis Federation) doubles tournament, this most recent achievement is one that she can add to her resume. At such a young age, teachers and peers are starting to call her “Little Li Na”

可能对于这些殊荣让很多孩子望而生羡，但对李玄津来说，这是既在情理之外又在情理之中的惊喜。

For many kids this may be a reason to be envious of Jin, but for Jin this achievement was simply something that was a result of her hard work and dedication to the sport.

那么李玄津同学在网球竞赛中取得优异的成绩的同时，她的文化课程是如何安排的。

With outstanding performances on the tennis court, how do her academics compare?

Before Jin came to Living Word to study, her parents communicated to the school’s President, Mr. Edward Jan Fang, that Jin had been training since a young age and hoped that she would be able to continue her training at the school.

为了让大家对李玄津同学有进一步了解，我们对她进行了采访。

We interviewed Jin to allow those who may not know her that well to be able to more acquainted with her.

Q：李玄津同学，你好!听说你刚刚获得了网球国际比赛的冠军，能具体跟我们讲一下吗?

A：前不久，在2017年ITF国际青少年(U18)网球巡回赛中我拿到了女子双打冠军，之前也有获得一些比赛的冠军，比如西班牙网球协会单打冠军、ATF(亚洲网球协会)级别A双打冠军等。

Q: Hello Jin! I heard that you have just won an international tennis tournament. Can you elaborate a little bit more on your success?

A: It wasn’t too long ago that I won the Under-18 International Tennis Federation youth women’s double title. Before that I won tournaments in a Spanish tennis association singles competition as well as the Asian Tennis Federation’s doubles bracket.

Q：你是在国际上享有排名的，对吗?你比一般的小孩子自信阳光多了，你是enjoy这样的学习和生活的吗?

A：是的，我现在排名的话在国际是第31名，因为我现在15岁，所以参加都是18以下的青少年组赛事，这次比赛是青少年最高级别的。有时候学习和专业排得比较满，很忙碌，但不累，而是充实。有时持续打球会无所适从，中间加定制的课程学习，会放松很多，物理理论的学习也能很好地辅助网球练习，而且一个人闷头打球，不如跟同学在一起交流舒服。我的假期就是网球训练，我很享受这种充实的学习和生活方式。我也乐于挑战更高更强大的对手!

Q: You hold a world ranking in tennis right now, correct? Do you enjoy this busy lifestyle of tennis and academics?

A: Yes, I am currently ranked 31st in the world. I’m only 15 so of course I’m competing against people my own age; they’re all very tough competitors. Sometimes the balance between tennis and studying is difficult, and often I feel very busy. Very rarely, however, am I tired. The tennis and academic balance complement each other; when I am tired of one I switch to the other. Much of my vacation time is spent on tennis training and I’m willing to challenge tougher opponents in the future!

Q：就你现在的学习状态，家长对学校的反应如何呢?

A：我妈对学校很满意的，因为在之前的学校上课的时候，可能打球时间和上课时间是排不开的，所以最后可能打球和文化课都抓不住。但是到美高之后，这些问题都能很好解决，有时候出去比赛，文化课可能就落下了，老师们都会给我补课，觉得这样很好。

Q: How do your parents feel about the school?

A: My parents are very satisfied with the school. In my previous school I was unable to balance studying with tennis and now that I’m able to do so me and my parents are all very satisfied. I’m especially happy that in the event I need to miss classes to go to a tennis competition, Living Word’s teachers are able to help me recover what I’ve missed.

从李玄津身上，我们可以看到一份超越年龄的成熟和自信，跟普通的网球运动员不同的是，在美高学习的过程中，她不光能网球训练，而且也学习了很多文化知识，得到身体和心灵的同步提升。

We can learn a lot from Jin’s experience. She is unique in her maturity and confidence and unlike other tennis players, she is also a student at Living Word allowing her to improve her mind and body at the same time.

相信在不久的将来，她一定可以在网球界创造出属于自己的一片天地。

It won’t be long now before Jin makes her mark in the tennis world.

当然，美高还有更多像李玄津这样拥有一技之长的学生，他们在学校的培养下，不断地向自己的目标努力，终将收获自己的一座城池。
