Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2015

2015年6月中旬上海美高学校在图书馆举行了隆重的毕业典礼。毕业生与师长、家长欢聚一堂，同学们穿着传统的毕业盛装，戴着毕业帽,一张张生动而朝气蓬勃的脸上洋溢着喜气，宛如看到了明天灿烂的曙光。

In mid June 2015, Living Word Shanghai held a touching graduation ceremony in the school library. Graduates, teachers, tutors and parents all gathered together to celebrate the event. Dressed in the traditional cap and gown, the students looked to their futures with vigor.

毕业典礼前先放了一段Living Word 的视频对美高学校做了一个简短的回顾与怀念。学校的五位毕业生分别为：BO HAO 郝博、Yoo Seok Jin, Yoo So Yeon, Gao Yuan高原，Joseph-C。毕业学生的数量虽不多，但是学校更注重学生的综合素养的培养。毕业典礼在洋溢着欢乐喜庆的气氛中开始各位老师与毕业同学上台祝福发言，校领导致辞演讲。

The ceremony started with a video of the graduates’ time at Living Word. This year’s graduates included Bo Hao, Yoo Seok Jin, Yoo So Yeon, Gao Yuan, and Joseph-C. The student body may have been small, but Living Word’s top priority is the comprehensive nature and quality of its education. During the event, each of the teachers and students took the opportunity to express their best wishes and say their final goodbyes.

韩国老师Jane与Jeffrey Yun分别发表讲话。尤其是Jeffrey 认为中国文化对他的教学很有帮助，文化是教学的一个重要组成部分，并详细论述其重要性。美国理科老师Jennifer Petit上台列举了一些学生往昔在校的故事插曲，给典礼带来幽默与欢快的气氛，其实无论是苦涩还是甜蜜都成为美好的回忆。她还激励学生只要有梦想就一定去实现。

Our two Korean teachers made the graduation address. Jeffrey Yun, in particular, expressed how Chinese culture has been helpful to his teaching and that culture is an important part of education. Ms. Jennifer, who teaches chemistry and mathematics, added her great sense humor by sharing funny stories from her time at our school. Lastly, she reminded students to always pursue their dreams.

经过美高学校的锤炼与熏陶Joseph-C同学，进入美国名校，对母校怀有感恩之心与怀念之情，表示要与母校保持与交流。Joseph-C的心声也代表了更多毕业生的心情。毕业学生纷纷上台发言，表达母校对自己的培育之恩。

Due do his hard-working, Joseph-C has already enrolled in a top American university. He certainly won’t be forgetting the school that helped him get there anytime soon. The other graduates likewise expressed their deep feelings for Living Word.

在热烈的掌声中美高学校董事长方正先生作精彩演讲。方先生认为毕业生在美高学校学习的经历对人生下一阶段的成长及对自己的今后有着非常重要的意义。方先生作为学校的负责人，除制定学校决策事务以外还潜心于教学研究，亲自担任12年级的班主任与导师，他如园丁一般呵护培养学生。并将哲学的理念融入到教育中，培养学生对各种热点问题全面深度的分析及独立思维的能力。他的演讲有理论、有实践、有鼓励、有展望，使全体师生员工深受教育和鼓舞。这种教育理念将引导学生走出盲目追求高学分、高学位等误区，从而转向对情商、智商和综合能力的培养与提升。这些特征与优势在许多其他中学是不多见的。美高学校为学生早日融入西方社会的生活与学习打下良好的基础，学校必将成为今后世界精英的摇篮。

The chairman, Mr. Fang Zheng, also gave a wonderful speech. He believes that the graduates’ experiences in school will be very meaningful in their next stage of life and beyond. As the chairman of the board of Living Word Shanghai, Mr. Fang not only makes key decisions on school strategy, but is also deeply involved in education research for students. He is firmly dedicated to cultivating our students. Mr. Fang is both the 12th grade homeroom teacher and the school tutor. He combines philosophy and education to foster the students’ ability to think deeply and analyze topical issues in society. Mr. Fang’s philosophy and vision strongly encourage all teachers, students and staff to avoid blindly seeking high scores, diplomas and the like. Under this philosophy, the school helps students turn the exam-oriented education system into one that promotes a well-rounded, emotional and intellectual development and comprehensive quality. These features and advantages are sadly rare amongst other secondary schools. Living Word lays strong foundations upon which students can adapt to living and studying in western society. It is for this reason that Living Word is a cradle for cultivating global elites of the future.

典礼结束后，毕业生与董事长、校长、老师、家长们亲切握手、拥抱以相互勉励，并合影以留下美好的回忆。毕业生将获得美国协和教育集团下属Living Word总校颁发的高中毕业证书。

After the graduation ceremony, the students shook hands with and embraced the chairman, principles, and parents, in addition to taking pictures to keep their last beautiful memories. The graduates’ high school diplomas are issued by Living Word Lutheran in Wisconsin under the Concordia education system.

学校亲眼看到自己亲手栽培的种子，成长发芽今后结出硕大的果实。并更加乐意地继续学校的教育理念，将一届又一届的学生从母校的怀抱中送往光明的未来。希望同学们今后成为行业精英与领导者以自己的成就为母校增添荣誉。

Our school has born witness to the planting of seeds that will grow and flourish. Therefore we will confidently continue our educational philosophy and send our graduates onto bright futures. We hope our students will be leaders in all aspects of life and in doing so bring honor to Living Word.

同学们再见了，我们在遥远的东方为你们祝福，明天美高以您为自豪。
