An introduction to the student Clubs at Living Word Shanghai

上海美高学校为全面培养学生综合素质与兴趣爱好，鼓励开设学生社团，充分利用资源，为学生创造舞台，发挥学生的组织和领导才能。这些社团有能够让学生增加兴趣爱好，让同学们拓宽思维，或许同学们平时在课堂上迷惑的内容或许接触到了这里的课程立刻就找到了答案。

Student clubs enhance overall development and broaden interests. We support students opening student clubs as they offer an opportunity to improve organization skills and gain leadership experience.

除了正式的课程以外，美高学校为学生开设了学生社团，这些社团包括KEY CLUB、音乐社团、动物保护社团、电脑社、DIY社团、新闻社团、美国电影欣赏社团、个人辅导社团和舞蹈社团等。这些社团培养了同学们的综合能力与素养。例如社团组织Key Club，我校是Key Club在中国的第二所认证学校。该组织不仅重视个人的学习能力和提升，也提倡学生参与各种社会实践活动，帮助一些弱势的群体，定期组织社团成员前往孤儿院、幼儿园、养老院等当地社区机构，服务弱势群体，旨在培养学生的社会责任，提升学生的综合素质。而以上这些也是国内传统应试教育所不具备的。

Living word has established a large number of student clubs including Key Club, Music Club, Animal Protection Club, Computer Science Club, News club, DIY club and Dance club and more.

The Key Club fosters social responsibility. Therefore, we encourage students to engage in various community service and charitable activities such as paying visits to institutions that care for the elderly and underprivileged groups.

艺术音乐社团引导学生了解到全球众多时尚品牌，定期公开表演课程让同学学唱英语歌曲、表演各种乐器等，living word会给大家一个表演自己音乐才能的机会与舞台学会表演。美高学校正为您提供这样的舞台，不管你表演的怎么样，你都是的。再如美国电影，帮助同学学会对电影情节的分析和评论更好了解美国文化，除此以外我校还为学生提供如美术、击剑等课外活动，培养学生全面发展，让学生成为未来各行业的领导者与精英。

The music and art club instruct the students to know more fashion brands and in the world. The school provides the platform for students who have the opportunity to show their talent in singing or at various instruments. We train the students to build up the confidence, regarding each student as having maximum potential. Also we offer the extracurricular activities such as art, swordplay and others to improve students’ overall qualities, cultivating leadership in all fields.
