上海美高学校课程设置是学校的一个重要组成部分，影响学生今后全面发展的程度，直接反应出学校的教育水准，是我校教育创新的特色。学校的课程充分考虑了学术与个性的有效融合：核心课程完全同步美国教育体制;丰富的选修课程发掘学生的个人兴趣与特长;大量精彩的课外时间和社区活动帮助培养学生的领导力。为了让学生能够全面发展，美高学校根据美国中学教育的课程模式结合中国学生的学习特征设置了沟通课程、英美文学、领导力、自然科学、社会科学、微积分、经济学、心理学、国际语言学、计算机、音乐艺术、哈佛商务案例教程等精彩课程。邀请原美联社记者担任社会人文科学的系主任;聘请参加过职业联赛的球员分别担任美高校足球队、篮球队和羽毛球队的主教练。美高学校与皇马足球基金会合作举办青少年足球夏令营并邀请知名球星激励学生全面发展，我校也成为培养世界球星的摇篮。

The curriculum is the most important part of a school’s education. It impacts the students in the future and reflects our education standards. The school provides extensive,specialized, elective courses allowing students to participate in subjects suited to their personal interests. Abundant afterschool programs and extracurricular activities provide students opportunities to champion causes or grow as leaders. In order to train the students with well-rounded development the school combines its middle-school program with Chinese students’ needs in mind to set up such the curriculum as Communication, Leadership, English literature, Social Science, Economics, Psychology, World Languages, Computer Science, Music, Art and even Business cases of Harvard University. Mr. Synclair, for example, was an American news journalist and radio broadcaster. Now he is the dean of the Social Science Department. We also invite professional athletes to be the coaches of the football team, basketball team and badminton team. In our Soccer Summer Camp, we invited a Spanish soccer star for fostering students.

在学校管理方面也具有相当的特色优势，学校组织同学们自发成立学生会开设学生社团活动如舞蹈社、机器人社、新闻社、美国电影文学社、动物保护社等活动。以及更为精彩的课外兴趣课程如柔道、击剑和美术等课程。还特地聘请专家教师课外辅导同学们的TOFEL等课程辅导。学校聘请美籍教师担任学校宿舍管理部门的主任，以西方发达的管理艺术结合严格的管理制度帮助学生学会独立生活、和谐相处并早日适应美国的生活方式，为今后在美国成功立足打下一个好的基础。

The school also has advantages in management. For example, we organize the students to establish student club such as dance club, news club, animal protection club and the like. Also we offer the extracurricular activities such as art, swordplay and more to improve students’ overall qualities, cultivate leadership in all fields.Having a foreigner as the head of dormitories, we employ international philosophies to help students train independently in all walks of life, so that they may blend into western culture early.
