一年级 For Grade 1

《!No David!》---David Shannon

When author and artist David Shannon was five years old, he wrote a semi-autobiographical story of a little kid who broke all his mother's rules. He chewed with his mouth open (and full of food), he jumped on the furniture, and he broke his mother's vase! As a result, all David ever heard his mother say was "No, David!" Here is his story.

《彼得兔的故事》----毕翠克丝·波特

四、五年级 For Grade 4 to 5

《The Ransom of Red Chief》----O. Henry

This winning story captures all the charm and exaggerated comedy of O. Henry's classic about two bungling kidnappers who fall prey to their young "victim." The Ransom of Red Chief is a 1910 short story by O. Henry. It follows two men who kidnap and attempt to ransom a wealthy Alabaman's son; eventually, the men are driven to distraction by the boy and end up having to pay the boy's father to take him back.

Moby Dick or The Whale, is an American novel written by Herman Melville and published in 1851 during the American renaissance. A sailor, who is the sole survivor of a voyage, tells the story of his captain's self destructive quest. The story focuses on the captain of a lost whaling ship who tries to hunt down the white whale, Moby dick. The story's themes include obsession, revenge and man's relationship with nature.
